Knowing Kichen Limitation After Years Of Use

There are so many things about kitchens that we don’t appreciate until we’ve lived with one for several years.   Mine will be 20 years old soon – it’s the very same one that came fitted into the new house our family bought.  We were so excited to be buying a brand new house, yet to be completed, we didn’t really go into too much research about the kitchen or how it was to be arranged and fitted.    I do remember the excitement of being called to the sales showroom to select the colour and style of the cabinet doors, integral worktop, floor tiles and whether we required a particular style of sink and mixer tap etc.   We did not get a choice over the style of gas hob or the electric double oven.  We were so thrilled with the idea of a new house, we didn’t think to check anything on the spec list.   I would definitely have chosen a different radiator – a narrower vertical one would allow me to have a large upright fridge freezer at the farthest end of the worktop;  something elese I would reselect again, given the chance!
